"What the f**k is he on about now?", you may ask.
Well, with the smoking ban set to take effect on May 31st, I just wanted to know which clubs, in your opinion, have done the best job of removing the stink from their interior. I'm sure that some clubs will have to redo entire portions of their interiors. I wonder if I should get into the steam cleaning business for a few weeks.

I don't think that the majority of clubs will do anything at all. Unless, of course, the gov't decides to start levelling fines for that also. Considering the money that clubs will lose I don't see them spending any extra to make the non-smokers happy.
I don't think Cleo's would be first in line... I think they considered it major construction when they changed to the see-through curtains... looks like everything thing else came off the Ark.... the old smoke in the walls may be the only thing holding them up.

I really don't think the clubs will loose very much money because of the non-smoking law. Maybe a little in the first few months, but altogether, people won't stop going to strip clubs because they can't smoke. Similar laws have been passed elsewhere in the world and clubs are still making money.
Bars in general and strip clubs might find new customers as well. I stopped going in bars mostly because of the smoke factor... I was sick of smelling like an old ashtray and having a soar throat everytime I got out of a bar. Not to forget the risk of second hand smoking... I can't be the only one who didn't go to the bar scene because of that.
There was an interesting article in La Presse newspaper this past Saturday about cities where smoking has been banned in bars and restaurant. Apparently, in New York, it's common to see a glass of beer (or any other alcoholic beverage) covered with a coaster... nobody will touch the glass or take the seat because it means: "I'm outside smoking and I'll be back!" I'm always amazed at how men can be inventive to adapt to a new situation! :D

People won't stop going but they will spend less time there and will drink less as a result. The bars in Montreal will lose money, other than those with a terrasse who will lose less. I tend to smoke more when I'm out drinking and I'm not about to go outside every half hour to have a smoke. As a result I will go out much less, if at all. I will probably spend my time out on the terrasse upstairs at Wanda's, coming in now and then to catch a stage show downstairs on the rare times I will be going to a club. I will however save a lot of money.

True beauty of the smoking bans is that when you stop in for a few quick dances on the way home, you wife doesn't quiz you about your whereabouts and why you smell like an ashtray. "Sorry babe, lotsa traffic today."
I know the owner of a popular bar.... he says that after the smoking ban came in, his business increased.....
I had heard this happens sometimes but I had doubted it until I heard it from the horse's mouth.
Smoke never really bothered me before, but as more places are becoming nonsmoking even a little smoke can bug me now.
And yet (don't know why) some smell of smoke on a lady arouses me....

I know why Dee, it means that she's used to having something that size in her mouth, and we're both in luck.
